Briers Smart Gloves

I bought a pair of these gloves for my partner who was needing to protect her hands while doing some difficult lopping and pruning. She liked them so much that I was pleasantly surprised to see how it inspired her. She went back to her garden and finished her tidying up project very quickly, and looked very happy to have put this work to a good finish, which had been hurting her hands before having these great gloves! I have a vigorous climbing rose that I swear hates me, it can feel my fear as I try to tame it with long handled clippers, ordinary secateurs are no use against this beast! Even so it still manages to draw blood with its vicious talons, sorry, thorns, which are unusually dense, and BIG, and damn sharp let me tell you.Despite ordinary thorn proof gloves, I still end up covered in plasters. But no more!!!! The beast only managed two blows this year and both by a sneaky attack from the rear. My new, extremely fabulous, self defence strategy of gauntlets and welders mask, well, more covid face visor really, worked superbly, not a single vicious talon managed to penetrate the soft and surprisingly supple leather, these gloves are tough but flexible, although they are, of neccesity and being new, slightly restrictive of finger dexterity. I am sure they will weather beautifully though. I heartily recommend these gloves and the beast has something new to hate. Why keep the creeping menace? She bears the most beautiful scented blooms, a soft multilayered peach, tinged with red which fades to a creamy white before dropping the petals and has the most prolific blooms all summer. Cat lovers will understand the sentiment.

I knew, in particular, that my husband would be pleased with the Seed and Weed gloves – they are his favourite gloves for fine work but the old pair had worn out though they had lasted a long time. Fortunately I found the original order in a Brier’s Gloves email in my online shopping mailbox.

I was delighted my order arrived in good time for Christmas.

Briers leather gardening gloves are great as they are soft to work with, pliable and hard wearing due to the leather. Great purchase, very pleased.

These are very comfortable gloves and good for most jobs around the garden. Not resistant to thorns or brambles though.
